Right Now

Planning to learn CS fundamentals in depth, as learning new languages or frameworks seems worthless now in the age of AI. Also learning to read Urdu. Loving the language and the process. Looking forward to reading Urdu literature in the original language.

Also developing a native macOS app called LocalDrop, a local file-sharing app that uses the LocalSend protocol, so it should work fine with LocalSend. Also tried to develop a GitHub Desktop-style macOS app, but gave up. Maybe will pick up the project again when I feel like it.

Outside work and development, reading is my (almost) single source of entertainment. Reading lots and lots of mysteries and thrillers (with cheap literary value, you might say), other fiction like literary and slice-of-life, and some non-fiction (self-help, philosophy, Islamic theology, Islahi, history). Also spending an unhealthy amount of time on online tech forums, especially HackerNews.

On-Device Computer Vision, ML Systems & Reliable Image Uploads at Syarah

2023 - Present

Conceived, planned, and delivered a lightweight, on-device ML car-photo classification system using a custom-trained 42-class MobileNetV3 LiteRT/TFLite model. Integrated across bulk upload, image validation, and live camera workflows, it significantly reduced photography time and human classification errors.

Built a real-time Android VIN scanner using CameraX, LiteRT, and ML Kit, with a lightweight custom-trained quantized detector and a complex VIN recognition algorithm covering OCR validation, checksum repair, and character-confusion recovery.

Also developed a reliable upload manager that substantially reduced image loss during transfers.

Helped Rebuild a Leading Islamic App in Bangladesh

2022 - 2023

Helped modernize the Al-Hadith app, one of Bangladesh's most-downloaded Islamic apps, while maintaining the legacy Android build and supporting its Flutter rewrite for a large user base.

Ongoing

Working with small businesses on web design, digital marketing, and Amazon FBA tooling, alongside contract development for larger products like Marriott Bonvoy, BaseHubs, PatientAccess, and Jobamax. Also integrated the Sunmi Printer SDK into a Cordova hybrid app.
